Message from Aftalia:
Dearest Moms and Dads, I am very excited to announce "The Princess and the Marshmallow Raviolis" children's book event hosted by the very gracious Hellenic Cultural Center of the Southwest. I created this story of love, we as parents have for our children, and all we do to ensure they have everything that puts a smile on their little face. My girls love this story and I look forward to the opportunity of sharing some of it with you and introducing myself in person.
Here is an excerpt from the book...
In a land far away a long time ago, lived a king and his princess who loved each
other so!
Out of the blue, she threw a tantrum one day, the servants and the king looked on in dismay.
“Marshmallows, marshmallows this is all I will eat!” said the spoiled, little princess stomping her feet.
“Oh goodness,” said her father the very good king, not knowing what to do he simply gave in.
“Get me my chef!” the king anxiously cried, as his servants whisked off to the kitchen inside.
The chef came panting into the dining hall, the king was off his seat standing regal and tall.
“Marshmallows, marshmallows this is what you must make, my princess must eat, this is all you will bake!”
“As you wish your royal highness,” the nervous chef replied, as he bowed back into the kitchen and heavily sighed.
“What to do, what to do, I don’t have a clue, I must prepare a marshmallow dish and not just any will do!”
