Present

 

We will show a short video with the history of the Secret Patriotic Society, memorabilia, documents, photographs from the headquarters of the Society in Odessa. The Secret Patriotic Society was a clandestine organization of diaspora Greeks that for several years remained small with no influence outside Odessa, where it was founded in 1814. Around 1817 the political conditions in Europe, in Constantinople, and in all of the Greek world had changed. This enabled the growth of the Society among the educated and wealthy diaspora Greeks, the Orthodox clergy, and in mainland Greece, primarily among influential leaders of armed Greek groups. No one knew the leader, but all believed that this person might have been someone with power in the highest echelons of the Russian government. The Secret Society organized the initial revolutionary act close to the border region between present-day Romania and Moldova and Russia led by Alexandros Ypsilantis and united the Greek island mariners and the Greek militia leaders, local community leaders, and clergy into the common cause.

The short video will have English subtitles. The discussion with Hellenic AF General, Mr. Tsalouhidis who is one of the founders of the Etaireis' Museum in Odessa, will follow the video and will be in both languages.

Η Φιλική Εταιρεια ήταν η σημαντικότερη,  Μυστικη Οργάνωση, για την προετοιμασία επαναστασης για την απελευθέρωση των Ελλήνων από την Οθωμανικη Αυτοκρατορία των 400 ετων.  

Στις 14 Σεπτεμβρίου, 1814 με έδρα αρχικά την Οδησσό της Ουκρανίας, η οποία έδρα το 1818 μεταφέρθηκε στην Κωσταντινουπολη, στην κατεχομενη καρδιά/πρωτεύουσα των Οθωμανών!, τρεις φίλοι - έμποροι -, ο Νικόλαος Σκουφάς, ο Εμμανουήλ Ξάνθος και ο Αθανάσιος Τσακάλωφ, έδωσαν λόγο Τιμής και Ζωής, με Μηνυμα και Συνθημα: Ελευθερία η Θάνατος, να απελευθερώσουν την Ελλάδα και τους Έλληνες. 

Έτσι λοιπόν, μετά από  προετοιμασία 7 ετων, ξεκινά η Επανάσταση στις 25 Μαρτίου ΥΠΕΡ ΠΙΣΤΕΩΣ ΚΑΙ ΠΑΤΡΙΔΟΣ.

Το αίμα και την ιστορία των γενναίων και Ηρώων προγόνων μας που έδωσαν τις ζωές τους για την απελευθέρωση τους τότε, ώστε να ζούμε τώρα εμείς ολοι οι ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΟΙ ΕΛΛΗΝΕΣ,  τιμούμε φέτος και γιορτάζουμε την ανεξαρτησία μας των 200 ετών γνωρίζοντας και ελπίζοντας ότι η Ιστορία μας θα παραμένει παντα το επίκεντρο της γνώσης μας για την καταγωγή μας, τα ιδεώδη μας, τον πολιτισμό μας, την Πίστη μας και την Πατρίδα μας.

Η εκδήλωση θα αρχίσει με ένα σύντομης διάρκειας βίντεο για την ιστορία της Εταιρείας και θα ακολουθήσει συζήτηση με τον Πτέραρχο ε.α. κ. Τσαλουχίδη εκ των ιδρυτών του Μουσείου της Φιλικής Εταιρείας στην Οδησσό.
